Help for Those with Student Loan Debt
It's impossible to recommend a course of action for individuals, but here are a few things that might help you immediately if you're grappling with student loan debt:

NEA, Tom Joyner Foundation Provide $1.1 Million to Prepare Teachers
Joyner, a nationally syndicated radio personality and philanthropist, announced February 4 a new grant to increase the number of fully certified teachers in minority and hard-to-staff schools across the country. The Tom Joyner Foundation-National Education Association Teacher Licensure Scholarship Program will bring six new historically black colleges and universities on board as part of the program’s expansion.

NEA Offers PRAXIS Study Guide for Future Educators
Most states require that new educators pass the standardized Principals of Learning and Teaching test before they can become licensed. Check out our tutorial for ways to relieve test anxiety, sample questions, and more.

Meet the Chair Jermaine Coleman Hundreds of students from across the country elected Jermaine Coleman to serve as chairperson of NEA's Student Program. Coleman was elected to the two-year term during the "Shakin' Up the Political Landscape" Student Leadership Conference, June 26-29 in Washington, D.C. "I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time," said Coleman. He is pursuing a degree in music education.
