Personal MySpace Postings Can Damage Educators’ Careers

The racy photos, sexually graphic writings, or wild party stories teachers post online in their free time could cost them their jobs. Help for Those with Student Loan Debt

Scholarships Available for Prospective Secondary School Teachers of Math
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Texas Instruments will award a maximum of $10,000 to college students preparing to teach math. Deadline: May 9

NEA, Tom Joyner Foundation Provide $1.1 Million to Prepare Teachers
Joyner, a nationally syndicated radio personality and philanthropist, announced February 4 a new grant to increase the number of fully certified teachers in minority and hard-to-staff schools across the country. The Tom Joyner Foundation-National Education Association Teacher Licensure Scholarship Program will bring six new historically black colleges and universities on board as part of the program’s expansion.
