The National Education Association (NEA) serves a variety of distinct groups of education professionals. Click the appropriate heading to learn more about the important roles NEA members play in making public schools great for every child.

Retired Educators -- for retired NEA members.

Student Program -- for college students preparing to become teachers.

Higher Education -- for college and university faculty and staff.

Education Support Professionals -- for school staff, including paraprofessionals, bus drivers, school secretaries, custodians, food service workers, health services workers, security workers, and technicians.

Substitute Educators -- for the professional educators who provide continued quality education to children in the temporary absence of regular classroom educators.

Administrators  -- for school leaders responsible for the maintenance and development of schools, their faculty, and the students. 

National Council of Urban Education Associations (NCUEA) -- for members of NEA's urban affiliates.

NEA Foundation -- The Foundation provides grants for educators conducting research studies about the education profession.

Health Information Network -- This non-profit health affiliate of the NEA offers one-stop shopping for information about school health and safety issues.

NEA Member Benefits -- NEA Member Benefits offers members quality financial, investment, insurance, and other products in a competitive nationwide market. The programs of NEA Member Benefits are supported by superior service, by a consumer education program designed to help members be better consumers of financial and other products, and by a process to resolve consumer concerns fairly. You must be a member of NEA  to take advantage of these benefits.

Urban Grants Program -- Grassroots initiatives that promote a spirit of cooperation among local educators, students, and urban communities are recognized by the NEA Urban Grants Program. Each year, NEA awards 25 grants of $5,000 each to local NEA affiliates.

NEA-Saturn/UAW Partnership Award -- This partnership award recognizes NEA locals and their school districts for working together as partners in pursuit of quality education.
