ING Unsung Heroes Award

Honoring Education Innovators Who Improve Student Learning

Are you an educator with a class project that is short on funding but long on potential? Do you know a teacher looking for grant dollars? ING Unsung Heroes could help you turn great ideas into reality for students.

For more than 10 years, the ING Unsung Heroes program, administered by ING, the international financial services company, has rewarded K–12 educators who use new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning.

To apply, educators submit applications that describe projects they have initiated or would like to pursue. Projects are judged on:

  • Innovative method
  • Creativity
  • Ability to positively influence students

Each year, one hundred educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000.

The application deadline is April 30, 2009. You'll find information and a downloadable application at http://www.ing-usa.com/us/aboutING/CorporateCitizenship/Education/INGUnsungHeroes/index.htm.
