Introduce Kids to the Pleasures of Hydroponic Gardening

The National Gardening Association and the Grow Store have teamed up to offer Hooked on Hydroponics Grants to 36 elementary, middle, and high schools across the United States.

As part of the 2008 Hooked on Hydroponics Awards, 36 schools will receive a hydroponic gardening and indoor lighting system, along with curricula and activity books.

To be eligible, schools and youth organizations must plan to engage in a hydroponics project with at least 15 children between the ages of 6 and 18 during the 2009 school year. And you must verify that your facility can accommodate the equipment in the award packages available for your age group. Check the Web site below for the specifications for electrical load, light support, and dimensions of hydroponics equipment.
