National Financial Literacy Challenge: The Sequel
Presidential Council Recognizes Teen Fiscal Awareness
In April 2008, high school teachers were invited to save a class period for the first National Financial Literacy Challenge. A new initiative of the President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, this recognition program uses a voluntary online test to determine and reward high levels of financial literacy among high school students.p>
The test involves questions on basic personal finance, taking the average student an estimated 40–45 minutes to complete. In most instances, a computer lab is required. Students scoring in the top 25th percentile of national scores are eligible for recognition from the President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy.
A revised challenge will be offered from November 3–26, 2008. Teachers may choose any day within this window to ask their students to participate.
