Environmental Education Grants

Incorporating Environmental Education Across High School Curriculum

The 2008 grant cycle is now closed. Please check
back in Spring 2009.

Thanks to a generous grant from The Weather Channel, money is available through Planet Earth (a program designed to enhance and strengthen environmental education in high school classrooms nationwide) for high school teachers to integrate environmental education into all high school subjects—from chemistry to art—and make it easier for teachers to access best practices online.

  • High School Challenge Grants for up to $10,000 support teachers who want to integrate inclusion of environmental themes into a single course or across three or more courses.
  • Professional Development Grants support teachers new to the field of environmental education. Awardees receive a full scholarship for 2 graduate level online courses.

Submit your proposal by June 20, 2008.

For more information, visit the Classroom Earth Web page on the National Environmental Education Foundation's Web site.
