C.L.E.A.N. Award
NEA Honors School Custodians
The NEA Health Information Network (NEA HIN), in partnership with the Soap and Detergent Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has created a national custodian awards program, the C.L.E.A.N. Award (Custodial Leaders for Environmental Advocacy Nationwide).
The C.L.E.A.N. Award recognizes the contributions that custodians make to public health in their schools, communities, and their profession. The award will be presented to a school custodian who demonstrates outstanding leadership in school cleanliness and who reflects the contributions that education support professionals (ESPs) make to public health.
Five awards will be presented (one top recipient and four runners-up) at the 2009 NEA National ESP Conference in Orlando, Florida. Prizes include: an all-expenses-paid trip to the National ESP Conference; a cash award; a year's worth of NEA dues; and more!
Individuals are eligible to apply beginning September 1, 2008. December 10, 2008, is the deadline to apply. For information, contact Jennie Young by e-mail or call (202) 822-7481.
