Whether you’re a school administrative assistant, a classroom paraprofessional, or you keep things humming in the school cafeteria, you’re doing something essential for quality education.

As an NEA member, you’re eligible to apply for a full range of exclusive NEA Member Benefits programs. You’ll find these benefits described in this brochure. We hope that you take advantage of all those that meet your needs.

Please note that no member dues dollars are ever used to support or market any of these valuable programs.

Life Insurance Programs*

NEA DUES-TAB® Insurance is valuable insurance provided to you free just for being an NEA member. This insurance benefit is provided to all Active, Reserve, Staff and Life members (Life members must be actively employed in the field of education). NEA Retired Members, on Association business acting as an Association leader, are eligible for the $50,000 AD&D benefit only.

NEA Term Life Insurance provides up to $150,000 of decreasing term insurance coverage for you, your spouse or domestic partner and dependents, and is underwritten by the Prudential Insurance Company of America.

For supplemental life insurance with optional disability benefits, consider the NEA Home Protection® Plan, which offers up to $300,000 of life insurance coverage.

For peace of mind at home or when you travel, get NEA AD&D Insurance. It provides you 24-hour, worldwide protection. Plans start at $19 a year with coverage options up to $520,000. Members cannot be turned down for this coverage and no medical exam is required.

Health Disability and Casualty Insurance Programs

The NEA MemberCare® Critical Illness Benefit provides up to $100,000 protection against the financial disaster caused by catastrophic illness. It pays a lump-sum benefit upon first diagnosis of a wide array of critical conditions, adn upon death.

Also included in the NEA MemberCare portfolio is the NEA MemberCare® Long-Term Care Insurance Program. This plan provides financial support and protects your retirement assets from nursing home, assisted living and home health care expenses. It is also available to parents of members.

The NEA MemberCare® Medicare Supplement Program* offers a package of health insurance plans for those over age 65 to supplement the Medicare protection they already have.

As an NEA member, you can get the NEA Income Protection® Plan. Several options are available to help you protect your most valuable asset — your ability to work and earn income. This plan is underwritten by the American Fidelity Assurance Company. Whether you own or rent, NEA Homeowners® Insurance gives you members-only benefits, personal service and a deductible that decreases if no claims are made. Also available are endorsements for inflation protection and coverage for valuables. This plan is underwritten by the Horace Mann Insurance Companies.

Credit Programs

As an NEA member, you are eligible to apply for an NEA Platinum Plus® Credit Card or an NEA QuantumSM Credit Card, and enroll in the new NEA WorldPoints SM Program — all with no annual fee.

With the brand new NEA WorldPoints Program, you earn one reward point for each dollar you charge to your card for everyday purchases. Then, you can redeem your points for cash, travel or merchandise rewards. All cards that are available through the NEA Credit Card Program feature low introductory rates on balance transfers and check cash advances, and low member-only Annual Percentage Rates on purchases.¹

Loan and Mortgage Programs

The NEA Line of Credit® gives you a line of credit without having to stand in line at the bank. Upon approval, you can access between $500 and $25,000² at a low rate through a special book of personal checks. There’s no annual fee, and no collateral is required. Plus you’ll get a complimentary “Driveaway Getaway” vacation package after closing on a new purchase mortgage or refinance loan through this program. Home equity loans and reverse mortgages for senior citizens are also available.

With an NEA Personal Loan® administered by MBNA America Bank, N.A. you can borrow from $3,000 to $25,0002  at a low members-only rate — with no collateral — regardless of how much you borrow. There are no lengthy applications and you can even receive a loan decision in as little as 10 minutes.

Deposit Savings Accounts and Investment Programs
