Budget pressures, aging buildings, school violence, privatization, safety and health concerns- there are a lot of forces that are having an impact on school custodians. Custodians make up the bulk of the Building and Grounds Maintenance/Repairs job group, the second largest of NEA's 9 ESP job groups.
